Dear Wakefield Families,
We want to thank you all for your continued support and participation in Learn Anywhere. As we complete week five and start the April break, we want to let you all know that we are actively planning for the coming weeks and months. When we return from April break, we will have more information and updates on teaching and learning including how we will give credit for the work our students completed outside of school. With the possibility of an extended closure, we are looking at creating new ways to support students as they transition into our school system at Doyle and Kindergarten as well as transitions from grades 4 to 5 and from grade 8 to 9.
A significant area of focus for us is celebrating the WMHS Class of 2020, a group who has been incredible in a time where flexibility, understanding, and resiliency are needed every day. We are working with school administrators to discuss and plan alternative ways to celebrate our Seniors who deserve this recognition as they finish their time in the Wakefield Public Schools. While we cannot make up for the events that will be missed, we can commit to finding memorable ways to celebrate this special group of students.
We anticipate hearing more about the length of the school closure in the coming days and will have more information then. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Enjoy the break!
