DAY 3

STUDENT INFORMATION

*5th and 8th grade students will continue their STEM MCAS TODAY. Please be quiet and respectful while passing in the hallways. Thank you.

*Night Spot is tomorrow night for the 7th grade. $5 payable at the door. Come have fun with your friends!

*Are you a middle or high school student aged 13 to 18 with a passion for leadership and community involvement? Wakefield’s Youth Council is seeking new members! This municipal committee is appointed by the Town Council and gives local youth an opportunity to advocate and communicate, engage in town issues, and actively participate in local government. Applications are due TOMORROW Friday, May 20, 2022. Learn more and apply at www.wakefield.ma.us/youth-council-applications.

*The Wakefield High School Peer Leaders will be coming to visit the 8th grade students during their morning specialists block TOMORROW Friday, May 20th.  Students will report to their assigned specialist and the teacher will take them to the gym.  Students will learn some valuable tips on how to best succeed in High School.  Team A - first period, Team B- second period, Team C - third period

*Attention Diversity Club members: Our next meeting will be the following Monday, May 23.

*Warrior Pride Night will take place on Monday, June 6th, from 6:30-7:30PM at Wakefield HS, outside on the Shaun Beasley Track.  If you are not familiar with "Warrior Pride Night", it is basically an 8th grade step-up night for Wakefield HS Athletics.  All of our Wakefield HS sports teams will have a table set up at the high school.  The coaches and current players from each sports team will be on hand to meet incoming freshmen and their parents.  Incoming freshmen (current 8th graders) and their parents get to meet all of our WHS sports coaches, sign up for teams, and learn about our sports programs here at WHS.  It is a great way for incoming freshmen to get to know their future coaches before school starts in September.  Coaches can also give them summer workout plans, and connect the incoming freshmen with the upperclassmen, so they can work out together over the summer.

*An Important Announcement from the Cafeteria: If you drop your lunch, you must bring it back to the register before you can get another lunch.

*Today’s Lunch: Chicken Nuggets with fries, and Fruit

PARENT INFORMATION

*2022 MCAS Dates: ELA - DONE

                     Math - DONE

                     STE - Grade 5 & 8: May 17th and 19th

*Review of Dismissal Procedures: If you should need to dismiss your student during the school day, please send your child in with a note, and have them report to the main office. We will log them in our dismissal book and give them a pass. This will help to alleviate disruptions to classrooms during teaching time. You can still email the teachers, however if that is all you do it may not be transferred to the main office. Also, if you just email the main office staff or Administration, due to the volume of traffic in the office in the morning, an email may not be seen right away. Parents/Guardians MUST come to the main office to sign their child out. Students cannot just walk out on their own. Thank you for your understanding.

*A gentle reminder, for the safety of all staff and students, parents should not be exiting through the parking lot after dropping children off coming from North Avenue. Parents need to exit the parking lot onto Armory Street. Thank you for your cooperation.
*Also, just another quick reminder, students should not be entering the building before 7:00am.
