DAY 5

STUDENT INFORMATION

*The Galvin is partnering with the High School today to celebrate the Day of Unity, a day where our school community comes together to promote peace and acceptance and celebrate each other as unique individuals. We will be welcoming Ken Nwadike, who started the Free Hugs Project, to speak to the Lower and Upper Houses.

*The Warrior Cleanup Crew is a community effort started by the children of Wakefield, MA in organizing cleanup events in Wakefield in order to clean up our town’s streets. Our organization’s mission is to spread accountability through action, teach social responsibility by encouraging Wakefield residents to not litter and to pick up litter when they see it. Our next event is May 7, 2022 at Galvin Middle School and then May 14,2022 at Lake Quannapowitt.

*Guess what time it is?  It's time to order a yearbook. The cost is $30. Ordering deadline is Monday, May 9th. Keep in mind it's mostly an 8th-grade yearbook, but any student can order one. Order forms were passed out to 8th graders.  All other students can get an order form in the main office.

*The WHS Dance Team will be holding tryouts Monday 5/9/22 through Thursday 5/12/22 from 3:30 - 5:30pm in the WHS field house for all students currently in grades 8-11.  These tryouts are for the fall 2022 season and are for new dancers and dancers currently on the JV team only.  Existing members of the varsity team do not need to attend these tryouts.  Please bring sneakers, socks, jazz booties, and water.  Make sure to wear something comfortable to move in.  Leotards and tights are not needed.

*Review of Dismissal Procedures: If you should need to dismiss your student during the school day, please send your child in with a note, and have them report to the main office. We will log them in our dismissal book and give them a pass. This will help to alleviate disruptions to classrooms during teaching time. You can still email the teachers, however if that is all you do it may not be transferred to the main office. Also, if you just email the main office staff or Administration, due to the volume of traffic in the office in the morning, an email may not be seen right away. Parents/Guardians MUST come to the main office to sign their child out. Students cannot just walk out on their own. Thank you for your understanding.

*A gentle reminder, for the safety of all staff and students, parents should not be exiting through the parking lot after dropping children off coming from North Avenue. Parents need to exit the parking lot onto Armory Street. Thank you for your cooperation.

*Also, just another quick reminder, students should not be entering the building before 7:00am.
