DAY 2

STUDENT INFORMATION

*Calling all 5th graders!  Your night spot is this Friday April 8th from 7-8:30pm in the gym and cafe.  Hope to see you Friday night!

*According to a 2021 Youth Mental Health Survey, 65% of LGBTQ+ middle school students reported being victims of bullying and are often too afraid to speak up.  The Diversity Club would like to invite 6th-8th grade students to participate in the Day of Silence on Friday, April 15, to stand up against the bullying and harassment students can face simply because of how they identify. Students who participate in the Day of Silence will agree to take a vow of silence for the day in solidarity with LGBTQ+ youth. Look for sign-ups in the cafeteria starting next week or reach out to Ms. Warren or Ms. Bahnsen with any questions.

*The community service club cereal drive is in need of your donations. Please help us reach our goal of 200 boxes of cereal by the end of our drive. Just grab a box from home and drop it in the collection bin in the cafeteria! Thanks for your support!

*MCAS Testing continues TODAY for 5th and 6th grades, we hope you got a good night's sleep and ate a healthy breakfast! We know you will be great!! To All Upper Classmen: Please be quiet and respectful when passing through the hallways. Thank you!

*Review of Dismissal Procedures: If you should need to dismiss your student during the school day, please send your child in with a note, and have them report to the main office. We will log them in our dismissal book and give them a pass. This will help to alleviate disruptions to classrooms during teaching time. You can still email the teachers, however if that is all you do it may not be transferred to the main office. Also, if you just email the main office staff or Administration, due to the volume of traffic in the office in the morning, an email may not be seen right away. Parents/Guardians MUST come to the main office to sign their child out. Students cannot just walk out on their own. Thank you for your understanding.

*A gentle reminder, for the safety of all staff and students, parents should not be exiting through the parking lot after dropping children off coming from North Avenue. Parents need to exit the parking lot onto Armory Street. Thank you for your cooperation.

*Also, just another quick reminder, students should not be entering the building before 7:00am.

*If you have not returned the Emergency Contact Form, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you.
