Absences/Tardies

If your child is going to be absent, you must call the Galvin Middle School at (781) 246-6410 and press “1” for the Child Safety Line before 9:00 a.m.

If your child will be absent for more than one day, please leave that information as well. If your child is going to be late, please call the Safety Line and state the reason for being late. Parents/Guardians must call the Child Safety Line even if they have sent a note to the teacher.

Early Dismissal Procedure

In order to be dismissed from school, a note signed by a parent/guardian, stating the specific reason for dismissal, must be brought in. Please also indicate the child’s first and last name on the dismissal note.

Parents/guardians MUST come into the Main Office to pick up and sign out their child for dismissal. Students are not allowed to walk to a dentist or doctor’s appointment once they arrive at school. A student must be dismissed to a parent or another adult. A new policy has been put in place that anyone dismissing a student needs to present their picture identification to the main office. This is for the safety of all students.
