Day 6

STUDENT INFORMATION

*Yesterday, our STEM Week trivia question was “What type of bridge is the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco?” As many of you guessed, the correct answer is a suspension bridge. There were over 200 guesses submitted and we selected a random student from those that answered correctly. The Galvin STEM trivia winner for yesterday was _________________ on Team _____. Congratulations! You can stop by the main office to pick up your gift card.

*Today’s trivia question is mathematics-based. Please submit your answer without looking it up online. Just give it your best guess! Are you ready? [insert trivia question]  Submit your guess on the Google form that was emailed to you this morning. Remember there is a coding challenge and cybersecurity contest ongoing this week too. You may go to the Learning Commons website to find the first puzzle.

*Attention all 8th graders.  The Yearbook Club is starting soon.  Join us, so you can create a memorable keepsake for your classmates.  Informational meeting will be TODAY, Thursday, October 21, at 2:30, in Mr. Winiarski's room, 335.  Again, this club is for 8th graders only.

*Middle School Girls Try Hockey for Free* Learn to Play Hockey Program

Wakefield Youth Skating Association is  hosting a Middle school girls try free hockey program. This learn to play program is designed to introduce girls ages 9-14 to the sport of ice hockey.  Skaters are expected to be able to stand up on their own and make forward progress. This is for first time players. Sessions are November 28th, December 5th, December 12th, and December 19th from 1-2pm at Hockeytown USA. As part of this program WYSA has access to limited sets of loaner protective gear and skates that have been donated.  All skaters are required to wear full protective gear. *As a reminder to all students, with the weather turning cooler and outdoor lunches continuing, we want to make sure all students are dressing appropriately. Please make sure to have a jacket or sweatshirt with you.

*Lost and Found: If any student has lost a water bottle or sweatshirt please check the blue bin in the main office entrance. If you left something behind during PE class, please check the area next to the bleachers in the gymnasium. Thank you.
