DAY 5

STUDENT INFORMATION

*iCARE Shoutout: William Gip eighth grade. Independently sweeping up the extra trash on the floor in the cafeteria without being asked after lunch Friday.

*Are you looking for a club that will provide a safe place to explore and discuss  the wonderful world of Japanese Manga and Anime? Then look no further,  Anime Club is back in action with Mr.O and  Ms.Grams in room 337 starting this Friday, October 13th!

*5th/6th grade student council members should check Google Classroom for an announcement.

*We still have Agenda Books available for any student still needing one. They are $5 each. Please stop by the main office if you would like to purchase one.

*Do you want to join an inclusive friendship club that promotes our core values of ACCEPTANCE and RELATIONSHIPS? Consider investing your time in Best Buddies, an international organization that promotes connections between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. By joining, you will have the opportunity to participate in both in-school and after-school activities, such as crafts and games, and will also be promoting an inclusive culture here at Galvin Middle School. Best Buddies will meet once per month directly after school. If you have any questions or would like more information about how to sign up, please see Ms. Hersman in the 3rd floor student support hallway or Ms. Riley in Room 104. The first meeting is scheduled TODAY.

* If you have misplaced a lunch box, water bottle, or an article of clothing, please check the cafeteria for missing items.

PARENT INFORMATION

*Review of Dismissal Procedures: If you should need to dismiss your student during the school day, please send your child in with a note, and have them report to the main office. We will log them in our dismissal book and give them a pass. This will help to alleviate disruptions to classrooms during teaching time. You can still email the teachers, however if that is all you do it may not be transferred to the main office. Also, if you just email the main office staff or Administration, due to the volume of traffic in the office in the morning, an email may not be seen right away. Parents/Guardians MUST come to the main office to sign their child out. Students cannot just walk out on their own. Thank you for your understanding.

*A gentle reminder,  for the safety of all staff and students, parents should not be exiting through the parking lot after dropping children off coming from North Avenue. Parents need to exit the parking lot onto Armory Street. Thank you for your cooperation.

TODAY’S LUNCH: Pasta with Meatballs or Marinara,  a Breadstick, and Fruit
WEDNESDAY’S LUNCH: Lisa’s Pizza, and Fruit
