Policy Book

Wakefield Public Schools

Introduction

The role of the School Committee is to set policy, and the role of the administration is to implement that policy through procedures and guidelines. Written policies are the chief means through which a School Committee governs a public school system. Policies are implemented through procedures and guidelines developed by school administrative staff. Below is a manual to guide the public through the policies of the Wakefield Public Schools.

Organization

The manual is organized under 13 major classifications each assigned an alphabetical code for administrative use, as well as a School Committee numbering system for the general public.
