Back-to-School Family Guide 2026-2027

Wakefield Public Schools publishes this back-to-school guide to help families prepare for the 2026-2027 school year. Use it alongside the Wakefield Public Schools district homepage for current announcements and quick links.

Confirm Your School and Registration Status

Returning families should verify student information in PowerSchool before the first day. New families can complete enrollment through the Students / Parents registration page. If you are unsure which school serves your address, review the school district zones map or call the central office at (781) 246-6400.

Review the 2026-2027 School Calendar

Mark the first day of school, holidays, early release days, and scheduled breaks on your family calendar. The approved 2026-2027 district school calendar is also linked from the district homepage announcements.

Plan Transportation and Arrival Times

Bus routes, stop times, and walker guidelines are posted on the Transportation page. Confirm your child's stop location before the first week, especially if you moved over the summer. Review published school hours so students arrive on time.

Set Up Lunch Accounts and Health Paperwork

Menus and payment options are listed on the Lunch Menus and Prices page. Submit required health forms through the Health Services site before school starts. Families with medication plans should contact the school nurse directly.

First-Week Checklist for Families

  1. Label backpacks, lunch boxes, and outerwear with your child's name and teacher.
  2. Pack required supplies using the grade-level lists posted on your school homepage.
  3. Save the main office phone number and review emergency contact information in PowerSchool.
  4. Read the bullying prevention resources with your student.
  5. Check the district news page for updates during the opening weeks of school.
